Part-Time Household Manager
Location: Marina District, San Francisco & Belvedere, CA
Schedule: Part-Time ~24 hours/week (3 full days; flexible scheduling)
Compensation: $50–$60/hour+, DOE
Start Date: ASAP

A private couple with homes in San Francisco’s Marina District and Belvedere, CA, is seeking a professional, trustworthy, and highly collaborative Household Manager to oversee day-to-day household operations. This is a long-term opportunity with thoughtful principals who value clear communication, reliability, and professionalism. The family has a strong history of retaining household staff for many years.

This role is primarily on-site and ideal for someone based in the Bay Area. Candidates from Marin will find the Marina location particularly commutable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate subcontractors, including gardeners, contractors, and repair professionals.
  • Maintain a detailed log of home and vehicle repairs and maintenance, track warranties and key documents.
  • Order and maintain inventory of household and office supplies.
  • Schedule regular home and vehicle maintenance.
  • Coordinate with outside professionals as needed, including accountants, attorneys, travel planners, and insurance providers.
  • Ensure all insurance (homes, vehicles, valuables, health) is kept current.
  • Assist with the care of a senior dog, including vet appointments and maintaining food/supplies; occasional dog walking, may coordinate help from a dog walker or the housekeeper.
  • Plan and support family travel, holidays, and events, including hiring and supervising caterers.
  • Submit a clear and concise weekly report outlining what was completed and what is upcoming.
  • Regularly check in with both principals and provide proactive updates; maintain a high level of professionalism in both written and verbal communication.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, local candidates only.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Brings prior experience in personal assistance/ household management.
  • Could be early- or mid-career; principals are open to training a candidate with the right mindset and potential, or hiring someone more seasoned.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and communicative, someone who keeps the principals informed without needing to be asked.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities independently.
  • Flexible, with a positive attitude and the ability to adjust to the needs of the household.
  • Non-smoker and non-vaper.
  • Must be able to physically perform the duties described, including lifting, climbing stairs, and bending.

Additional Requirements & Benefits

  • Candidates must have stellar professional references and will be required to undergo an in-depth background investigation prior to hire.
  • You’ll report to both principals. There are no children in the home.

  • Approximately 2 weeks of vacation (48 hours/year)
  • Paid holidays if they fall on scheduled workdays 
  • Compensation is paid bi-monthly via direct deposit through a  payroll system.
  • A company credit card will be provided for approved household expenses.
